Meet Sarah & Carol

Monarch Organizing began with our strong desire to help people feel more at ease in their homes and more in control at their places of business.

After working closely together at Bella Luna & The Milky Way in Jamaica Plain for over 2 decades we are excited to pivot our hospitality experience to professional organizing. We’re not minimalists, our homes are not perfect.  We even have times where our own spaces can feel like a lot to tackle on our own. But we both believe in the power of transformation and truly enjoy helping someone to feel joy in their own surroundings.

The most important lesson that we take from our years at Bella Luna is that treating people with patience, kindness and respect is the key to working well together. We look forward to working with you!

Sarah Clapham

Co-Owner

I’m a small business owner, artist, community volunteer, gardener, home design enthusiast and Mom.

I’ve lived in Roslindale for 10 years in a tiny house filled with plants, books and art. I have over 20 years of experience in event and wedding planning, management, hospitality, art curation/installation and retail.

I worked alongside Carol Downs at Bella Luna as a dining room manager, event planner, art curator and decorator among other roles. My husband and I own The Framers’ Workshop, an almost 50 year old picture framing business in Brookline, MA.

Most recently I’ve worked with clients to help them organize, re-imagine and style their spaces. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help people breathe a little easier (and most importantly) find JOY in their homes and businesses!

Carol Downs

Co-Owner

I’ve been a small business owner, community leader, neighborhood volunteer, parent and resident of Boston for thirty-three years.

For most of that time I was a founding co-owner and operator of Bella Luna & The Milky Way, an award-winning, mission-driven dining and entertainment landmark in Jamaica Plain. It turns out that restaurant ownership is a fantastic training ground for professional organizing!

Sarah and I met at Bella Luna & The Milky Way and worked together for several decades, developing our unique brand of hospitality grounded in the values of generosity, inclusivity, creativity and respect.

Organizing for myself is fun. Organizing for others is deeply satisfying because at the end of a session, there is that “Pat On the Back” moment when the person realizes that the space that was a source of concern is now transformed into somewhere that creates peace of mind. That’s the moment I work to achieve for as many people as possible!
